Club Information

The entire OURLFC men’s squad (Maroons and Blues) trains together four times a week, with a training session out at Marston on monday nights during the season (see map below). We also have regular group fitness sessions on Monday and Friday mornings using the Iffley Road sports facilities.

Training

The club runs two playing training sessions every week – on Monday and Friday evenings. Mondays are taken by Dan Garbutt, with Fridays taken by Tom James – two coaches with vast experience of coaching at Semi-Professional level. We also provide a gym programme of two sessions a week for our players, run by Strength and Conditioning coach Matt Queralt. Friday training takes place at Oxford RFC in Hinksey in Michaelmas and then on the Astroturf at Iffley Road in Hilary Term.

The weekly schedule can be found below, and we also run both a pre-season and mid-season tour.

We are very lucky to have the coaching staff that we currently possess, with our head coach Dan Garbutt bringing a wealth of coaching experience to the table. As an extremely friendly club we welcome any newcomers with open arms and hope you will consider getting in contact with us. For information on the history of the club, check out the history section, and remember to check in on the schedule during the season for updates on match and training times.

During the Summer the club runs Touch Rugby sessions – focusing on developing ball-handling skills for our players.
